The Songs of Christmas Past

Description

Unwrap the festive melodies of yesteryear in Songs of Christmas Past at Ligonier Valley Library. This enchanting presentation by Sarah Peterson explores how American holiday traditions evolved from the 1770s to the 1930s through the lens of music. By uncovering the surprising history and cultural shifts behind eight beloved carols, this program pairs timeless tunes with historical context to reveal how our modern celebrations were shaped. This program builds from the DAR Museum exhibit of the same title.
